Our Story

Our Mission

Madison Furniture is dedicated to integrating environmental sustainability into all our business practices and manufacturing processes. We believe in providing well-designed furniture in the most environmentally responsible manner possible.

Our products are crafted to endure high use in demanding environments. Our furniture is designed with strength and durability to meet specific needs: hospitality settings demand durability, home use emphasizes comfort, and senior living focuses on ease of use and easy cleaning. We use high-grade foams and Oregon-grown Alder to ensure our products maintain their appearance and quality from day one through many years of use.

At Madison, we embrace challenges. If you have a concept or product idea, bring it to us. Our product line and expertise have grown over the years due to our commitment to learning and developing new pieces. We are open to exploring any idea and will provide feedback on how we can bring it to life.

Our History

In 1994, Madison Furniture was established in a garage on Tanglewood Drive, a charming neighborhood in Lake Oswego, Oregon. With the support of family and friends, Robert Cohns leveraged his 15 years of industry experience to produce upholstered sofas and chairs, primarily targeting the retail market. Within a few months, Madison transitioned to a factory in Tigard, Oregon, to scale up production.

Madison Furniture entered the contract furniture market in 1999 by starting to build furniture for the hospitality industry, which quickly became a key market segment. By 2010, Madison expanded into the senior living sector, completing over 150 projects. This solidified Madison's presence in the contract furniture industry.

Today, Madison Furniture focuses predominantly on contract projects, manufacturing furniture for hospitality, senior living, universities, office spaces, and various other commercial businesses. Now on it’s second generation of ownership, the company continues to expand market presence, quality, product knowledge, and experience.
