Components

We select the best components for your project.  In most frames, we use kiln dried alder hardwood and ponderosa pine for some of the very wide boards. Quality plywood is used to make some shapes.  Our frames are glued, stapled and extremely well blocked.  We never cut corners with a cheaper wood.

Seat springs are sinuous wire sized for the individual piece, and backs either have webbing or springs depending on the style.  Foam cushion cores are always wrapped with fiber and are a minimum 2-pound density, high-resilient foam available in varied levels of firmness to fit your project.  We can use special laminate cushions or down for specific applications, or as requested.  Back pillows can be fiber or foam and we’ll always line a loose fiber back pillow.

Going Green

We have soy based foam available and can purchase wood for frames that meets green standards.  We buy fabrics from all the well-known names and many of them offer green products, and we can purchase from green companies such as Sunbrella.  As a Northwest-based regional factory the transportation component of the carbon footprint is drastically reduced when compared to shipping in product from the east.  We also strive to recycle our foam and cardboard waste.

The environment is important to us at Madison and we’d love to work with you make your product in the most environmentally-friendly way.
